Asantewaa Presence Breaks Ground With Ade Foforo Single + Video
From a very humble beginning in Kumasi, Worship leader and Recording artiste Vivian Osei-Buabeng popularly known as Asantewaa Presence has gone through the mill to become the toast of several Christians and gospel music lovers in Ghana and beyond.Asantewaa Presence who made her presence known in Ghanaian Gospel industry in 2016 with her debut album titled “Ka Kyere Me” which literally means “tell me”, has released her much anticipated hit single titled “Ade Foforo”.
“Ade Foforo” which is a rendition from the maiden album, was recorded live at Groove House studios by Osei Francis and mixed by Koda of Koded Studios.
“Ade Foforo” is birthed from her music life experience as God coloured her with favour and new beginnings during difficult time. The song also talks about God’s immeasurable favour, blessing and undeserving grace bestowed upon His children.
The vessel of God told Sampson Annan of GospelEmpireGh.Com that; “God is the Ancient God yet He does new things each day. The only thing He requires of us is to always stay at His feet, pray and believe. Then His promises will be yeah and Amen for us. The attributes of God and the new things He does inspired me to write this song. ”
Formerly known as Obaa Afia, she gain her stage name Asantewaa Presence when God responded to her to use the name Asantewaa Presence after she prayed to God concerning her stage name. Asantewaa Presence literally means I love the presence of God.
The Gospel icon has always been a singer and a worshipper since the time she discovered her personality. The gospel songbird is also an active member at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
“I’m a praise and worship leader in church. My first recording started when I was doing my first degree in University of Cape Coast. Jewels of His Crown is a singing ministry of NUPSG, University of Cape Coast,” she said.
In 2008 she had her first recording at Koda’s and was invited to lead a track. She recorded most of the songs on her maiden album with Dan Bassey. She has worked with Groove house studios and Koda as well.
The emerging gospel artiste further said: “A lot of Ghanaian gospel artistes are evolving but it saddens my heart sometimes that Media people don’t promote our own. You know sometimes we struggle with the finances involved. The trend is now ‘awarding gospel music’ lol. I say this because some musicians are only focused on the awards and not on the lost souls.”
