Some Ghanaian Pastors Are Obsessed With Lavish Lifestyles Instead Of Showing Care – Esther Smith

Spread The Love

Gospel artiste Esther Smith has expressed concern over some Ghanaian pastors who prioritise amassing wealth over caring for the poor in society.

Having lived in Hamburg, Germany, she observed that pastors abroad often use church funds for developmental projects and to support the vulnerable, positively impacting lives.

In contrast, she noted that some pastors in Ghana use church proceeds to live lavishly, such as buying luxurious cars to display their wealth.

In an interview with Power FM, Esther Smith mentioned that this behaviour has led some people to lose trust in the church and urged Ghanaian pastors to change their ways and focus on making a positive impact.

“As I stay in Hamburg, they build giant church auditoriums through contributions from church members and other pastors. We need to wise up; they have cheated us for so long, and this has discouraged a lot of people. I am not accusing all pastors because some are good.

“If you go to the white man’s church, they are more concerned about the poor and vulnerable in society. But our pastors are thinking about how they can use luxurious cars. We are tired,” she said in Twi.

Esther Smith is set to hold a musical event in Ghana after she has been absent from the music scene for a while.

The event will be held in Kumasi on August 25, 2024, at the Bantama Pentecost Church and will move to Accra for a second event on August 30, 2024.
