Akesse Brempong Says Churches Should Start Record Labels
Ghanaian gospel sensation, Akesse Brempong has called on Ghanaian churches to put up record labels, to propel the gospel industry in the country.
The “God Is Working” singer explained that, gospel music is a more flexible way of propagating the word of God, hence, musicians in that genre are fighting for the same course as churches.
Though Akesse Brempong admitted that he has received some backing from his church, he could use more support.
He also mentioned that support from Ghanaian churches for the “kingdom’s business” is not disheartening.
Akesse adds his voice to the cry of many musicians, especially gospel duo, Trinity cross, who in a recent interview, called on churches to support the gospel sector.
The musician asked that developed churched in Ghana should emulate the likes of Nigerian based gospel label, Love World Record , owned by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, CEO of Christ Embassy Church.
The record label has produced established musicians like Ada Ehi, Buchi, Chris Shalom, Eben, Frank Edwards, Jahdiel, Joe Praize and Sinach, with hit songs like,Way Maker, I Know Who I Am, Unchangeable, Only You, Victory and a hoard of others.
However, Akesse admittedly said though it is capital inclined, investing in gospel talents by churches would go a long way to win souls for Christ.
