Jekalyn Carr Expands Beauty Brand
Within a decade, Multiple Award-Winning Gospel Artiste Jekalyn Carr is one of the top-selling independent recording artists in Gospel music and has unleashed a beauty brand and this beauty brand is creating lot of buzz.
Jekalyn Carr has taken Gospel music by storm since she began singing and ministering professionally at 15 years old.
Carr is a dominating force whose radio singles, albums, and digitals singles have consistently placed at number one on the Billboard list.
Her loyal fanbase has streamed her music globally 75 million times, and she has built a formidable social media presence that has brought 95 million views to her YouTube channel.
During her career, her peers in the music industry have noticed her influence.
As a result, she has amassed an impressive list of accolades: four Grammy® Award nominations, two Billboard Music Award nominations, and is the recipient of five Stellar Gospel Music Awards and two Dove Awards.
In 2021 she was inducted into the Women’s Songwriters Hall of Fame, and Carr continues to enlarge her territory by flipping the gift of her immaculate voice into areas of motivational speaking, becoming a published author, radio show host, and entrepreneur.
Her latest undertaking is launching her all-natural Jekalyn Beauty Skincare line, followed by Jekalyn Beauty Haircare; both brands cater to women who desire efficient and effective products that meet their beauty needs.
Carr extensively researched the best natural ingredients for skincare and experimented on herself before developing the product line.
She worked extensively for four months until the line met her standards before she brought it to the marketplace.
Fresh from hosting the Stellar Awards on BET, Carr spoke with Forbes:
She said: “I’ve always dreamt of having my own beauty company. We started working on the vision around 2018, and then towards the end of 2019, everybody’s hands started to go to work to bring the products to life and the vision to where it need be,” she says, speaking of her company’s genesis.
As she was planning the execution of her cosmetic products, the pandemic of 2020 materialized to such a degree that it threw her plans into a tailspin.
However, Carr remained focused and continued to toil at her initial objective.
She first unveiled her company in July 2021 and released a set of fragrances, Jekalyn For Her and Jekalyn For Him; both ended up selling out twice. Then at the beginning of 2022, she announced her skincare and haircare line.
Based on a WWD report, African-American women invested $7.5 billion per year purchasing beauty products and spent twice as much on skincare than the mainstream female demographic.
The “My Portion” singer is extending her entrepreneurship acumen by hosting a “You Will Win” conference, named after one of her famed gospel tracks, on how to excel in music ministry and business.
