Vashawn Mitchell To Join Bebe Winans’ 60th Birthday Celebration In London
We are pleased to announce an exciting addition to the already impressive concert lineup – VaShawn Mitchell – for Benjamin “BeBe” Winans‘ 60th Birthday celebration in London this 16th September.
Multiple Grammy, Dove and Stellar award nominee and winner VaShawn may be the youngest member of an impressive group of expected artists but he’s already achieved phenomenal success.
His hit single ‘Nobody Greater’, which topped the Gospel Billboard charts for nine weeks consecutively, made him the star of the 27th Stellar Awards where he walked away with an incredible six statues and eleven nods, placing him firmly among gospel music giants.
Mitchell’s twenty year career has established him as writer and producer of inspiring power-filled songs that are a fusion of pop, rock and gospel with that distinctive Chicago gospel sound.
He most recently released an album in 2019 entitled “Elements” and “Home for Christmas” EP at the end of last year. In addition to VaShawn Mitchell, BeBe will also be joined by his talented sibling Marvin L Winans.
Other names gracing the line up on the night include musical legends such as Karen Clark Sheard whose story was turned into biographical screenplay “The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospel” (2020), charting the story of how Karen and her sisters rose from obscurity to become the highest selling gospel music group in history.
And if your head isn’t already spinning from these prospects, there is yet more! Donnie McClurkin, another Grammy award winning gospel artist known for his groundbreaking “Live in London” album, will also be performing. London Community Gospel Choir, with whom BeBe has a long-standing association, will join him on the night to perform a cover of Luther Vandross’ inspirational hit ‘Power of Love/Love Power’ almost thirty years after it was first performed at the Royal Albert Hall. Not one to be missed, the evening is truly set to provide an unparalleled musical experience.
BeBe, himself a six-time Grammy Award Winner, multi-platinum selling artist and songwriter, has a history of celebrating his birthdays in grand style, holding concerts for his 45th and 50th in New York, with star studded casts, filled with popular and gospel singing legends as well as Hollywood A-listers.
His previous birthday concerts have attracted iconic performers such as Stevie Wonder, Glady Knight, Quincy Jones and Dionne Warwick to mention a few.
Reaching the age of 60 is considered in some cultures as having completed a full life cycle, BeBe is set to celebrate his diamond birthday in style as he looks to the next chapter. This may very well be the biggest gospel celebration of recent times in the UK and you’re invited! Click flyer below to book tickets.
